How To Enjoy Your Christmas This Year…

Christmas is my most favourite time of the year, xmas lights are shining, the air is crisp, children are excited and everyone seems to be on the high of life!

Unfortunately others don’t seem to get too involved with the xmas spirit and instead this time of year can really feel like a pressure to please and in some cases others may feel extremely lonely. Take a look below at some key points to remember how you can enjoy this beautiful time of year and also help others to do so:

Take the pressure off yourself

I hear so many people at this time of year worry, worry about what to buy their family and friends, worry about how they are going to afford to join in with Christmas celebrations, worry about what gifts others may be able to give which they can’t themselves…STOP! The most important thing to remember is it’s not all about what you can give so make sure you live to your means, don’t put yourself in ridiculous amounts of debt and stress which will strain you for the rest of the new year, instead challenge yourself to give the most thoughtful and economically variable gift you can to others – this could be just spending time with them!

Live in the moment

Take notice of what you are surrounded by. This time of year is about appreciating the joy which Christmas brings, the friends and family you are surrounded by, the succulent food you may have the luxury of enjoying or the blessing of being able to receive a gift from a loved one. What ever it may be, stop ruining the moment and as a result miss the atmosphere of this magical time!

Give to others without the expectation of receiving

I understand that many don’t have the luxury of being able to be surrounded with friends, family, food and gifts, so what better way than to try supporting those who need it at this special time of year. Simple things like sharing food with neighbours, purchasing blankets for the homeless or visiting a local care home for the elderly to wish them all a very merry Christmas.
