What I Learnt From Meeting Ant Middleton
Who is Ant Middleton?
For those who have been hiding under a rock and don’t know who Ant Middleton is, Ant is a television presenter, adventurer and ex-special forces hero who is a chief instructor on the t.v. series SAS: Who Dares Wins and has also lead the hit show ‘Mutiny’ which was another demonstration of both his physical and mental strength! Ant has also released his best selling book ‘First Man In: Leading From the Front’ and to be honest at the moment this gentleman is going strength to strength by creating a powerful brand of – solider, adventurer and leader.
“Grab opportunity – see it through to the end!”
I had the privilege of meeting Ant Middleton through Adam Stott at one of Adam’s highly successful Big Business events. Ant has a wealth of information and experience around both physical and mental strength and I have picked out some ‘gems’ of advice to share with you guys.
“Nothing to do with qualifications, positive mindset” – Ant really drove this point home by explaining that qualifications alone won’t get you to where you want to be, it’s about having that mindset that you can and you must get what you desire through drive and determination.
“Don’t be scared to fail, it’s the journey to your goal which makes you” – So many people want the event without the process, you have to remember that the daily grind of becoming more, learning and challenge is what sculpts you into being the person you need to be, to get the results you want to see.
“It’s only you who can improve your life!” – Don’t look to blame people or situations which are external to you, it is you and only you that can really create the reality you want!
“What words of advice would you give to someone who needs that motivation to keep going, to not give up?”
I had the chance to ask Ant a question on a one to one basis in which he was kind enough to answer, the question was –“What words of advice would you give to someone who needs that motivation to keep going, to not give up?”
Ant answered ” Be honest with yourself, be brutally honest – what’s not working for you and stop doing it, being brutal with yourself is the only thing that will work!”
I felt this was great advice identify what is stopping you, what isn’t getting you the results you want and create that change. I meet and work with so many clients who do the same ‘thing’ day in day out and expect different results, be brutal with yourself because you know what is truly stopping you from making progress in your life!
